Q:Hi, my name is Jon Schroder and I am the co-creator and producer on the Incredible Dr. Pol show on Nat Geo WIld. Just wanted to thank you for your kind words about the show and to let you know that we are producing 15 more episodes this year. Hope you can check it out?
This is the best news I’ve received all week! I am so glad that it was picked up again! I will definitely be DVRing it. I am so excited! Thank you for sharing :)
Men and Animals
Possibly the most heart melting, knee-wobbling, tear jerking thing is seeing a grown man (helps if he is drop dead gorgeous) helping a struggling animal or even just playing with them…. sighhh
*sniff sniff* One of the many perks of being in vet school!

The Chronicles of Kaitie Ban Vol. 83
A 78lb terrified black lab used my unsuspecting stomach/abdomen as a launch pad toward freedom, today. His owners were both deaf, thank goodness, so the profanity that spewed from my mouth and the doctor’s went unnoticed.

Saturday Ramblings
I worked the early shift at the clinic today before church. It was literally non-stop. We had clients waiting for us 30 minutes before we opened! Our first patient was a 143.1 lb 5 year old male Great Dane. He was so beautiful! Completely blue, without even a hint of a mask. His owners rescued him 3 years ago to be a companion for their (now) 7 year old female Great Dane. I can’t even imagine having two of those big dogs at the same time!
We had a lot of puppies today, which is always my favorite! Apparently today was a Great Dane day, as we had a 14 week old cream w/ black male in for his 3rd puppy shots. He was so adorable! His owner seemed hell bent on finding somewhere to clip his ears, though :( We definitely do not do it, and couldn’t direct her to a place that could. I SUPER hope she doesn’t try herself…ugh. It is just like people with de-clawing. The clinic I worked at over the summer hated doing it, but did it anyways because they felt it was better to do it correctly and safely as opposed to some back-yard operation just hacking them off with nail clippers. I digress.
Another puppy we had today was another rescue, although she was more recent (January). She was in for her 3rd puppy shots as well and SO adorable! I just love, love, love the puppies. They are still (usually) sweet. No one has screwed them up yet. They are relatively healthy, save the typical worm infestation or the awful parvo cases.
It was a great money day for the clinic, as we almost tripled our break-even number! Everyone was in a great mood and I get along really well with all the people who were on my shift today. I love works days like today. I just wish there were more of them…
